At PODER, we believe real change comes from the ground up, led by the people who live it every day. We organize with working-class San Franciscan Latinx immigrant families and youth to create people-powered solutions for environmental and economic justice.
Today, that power is under attack. The current presidential administration continues to push policies designed to criminalize our people and dismantle the safety nets our communities rely on. The billionaire class with vested interests in this agenda is taking control of our local city politics. The walls may feel like they’re closing in, but our roots run deep. For over 30 years, we’ve been building community power and crafting the very solutions we need to meet this moment.
We launch the Rooted in Power campaign as a call to deepen our roots to the land and each other, and ask for a wider base of support to resource and sustain our work.

- Cultivate Food Sovereignty & Climate Resilience: Support food, plant medicine and restoration programs and at Hummingbird Farm. All while centering intergenerational healing.
- Build Collective Power: Train youth organizers and grow our base of civic leaders.
- Steward Land & Build Healthy alternatives: Protect projects and spaces like Hummingbird Farm and fight for public land in people’s hands. Sustain ‘Bicis del Pueblo’ presence across two neighborhoods and help us ensure building electrification reaches our neighborhoods.
